For Pa Joshua Jegede, an 88 year old civil service pensioner “living at this age is about making people happy”.

This he did on 09 October 2015 when he visited the Director General and staff of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) to express his appreciation on the timely payment of his monthly pension.

“Nigerians should learn to say it when things are working well and not only when things go wrong,” he said.

Pa Jegede, who started his civil service career in January 1951 is retired but certainly not tired. He is fit and happy; climbing up two flight of stairs carrying his backpack. It is obvious that staying active is the key to his fitness and positive disposition. While thanking PTAD Director General and her staff, he also advised them to adopt an active lifestyle if they are to be as fit as he is when they get to his age.

The Director General of PTAD, Mrs. Nellie Mayshak, expressed delight at his visit and assured him that they (pensioners) are the reason for PTAD’s existence.
