The Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) Sharon Ikeazor has commended the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) for investing in the capacity development of its officer cadets.

The E.S. gave this commendation when NDA 300 level officer cadets of the department of accounting and management visited the Directorate on an educational tour to understudy PTAD’s administrative and accounting processes. This is the second batch of officer cadets that have visited PTAD.

While interacting with the officer cadets, she explained that one of the mandates of PTAD is to ensure payments of pensioners that retired on or before June 30TH 2007 under the Defined Benefit Scheme including payment of Next of Kins (NoKs) of deceased pensioners who died on or before the commencement of the Contributory Pension Scheme.

Presentations by the Pension Support Services Department led by its Director, explained to the officer cadets the function of the Pension Support Services Department which includes the contact and call centers. They also visited the Customs, Immigrations & Prisons Pension Department for practical demonstration of computation and payment processes.

The team lead from NDA, Dr. Ahmed Yahaya thanked the E.S. and PTAD Management for collaborating with the NDA to develop the officer cadets knowledge and understanding of pension administration. He requested a partnership with PTAD to conduct a survey of pensioners perception of pension management and administration in Nigeria.

The officer cadets presented the Executive Secretary with an award.
