The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has established two additional pension offices in Sokoto and Kano states.

Speaking about the development, the Ag. Director General/Executive Secretary, Murtala MO., said the newly established offices, in Sokoto at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Kaduna Road, Sokoto and Kano at the Kano State Pension Fund Trustees Complex, No 9 Sokoto Road, Kano, are fully operational.

According to him the decision to fast track the establishment of additional pension offices was to fulfil PTAD’s pledge to make pensioner welfare the number one priority..

“These state offices were opened in a bid to make services more accessible to pensioners and decentralize operations and we hope to establish more all across the country in due course so that we can be closer to our pensioners and quicker in responding to their needs,” he said.

In 2015, PTAD had established 4 state offices in Benin, Kaduna, Lagos and Enugu in a bid to save pensioners the stress of travelling to Abuja to make or follow-up complaints.

The Ag. DG added that the state pension offices are expected to reduce the turnaround time on pensioners’ complaints. Pensioners can visit any of these offices for prompt support.
